Her work is about balance and exploration. She enjoys the subtle changes that occur when colors and textures overlap, react, and create something new. Exploring space and balance, she attempts to create a tension between control and chaos. The beautiful female form allows her to explore color and texture while expressing femininity; a complex blend of strength and vulnerability. These characteristics manifest hard lines against blended softness and bright color buried under layers of paint. She intuitively bring these elements together; the result is an expression of mood, creating an atmosphere to lose oneself in.
Marni Mutrux was awarded a Presidential Art Scholarship and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, graduating Magna cum Lauda, from Salem State College (MA) in 2003. Originally from Key West, FL., Mutrux currently resides in Northern California.
