| Adam Keener’s painting style was first influenced
by his Chicago upbringing. Frequent trips to that city’s Art Institute
Museum allowed him to look upon the masterworks of Picasso, Dali, Van Gough,
Gougin and Remmington. The influence of those painters coupled with the
rock’n’roll music culture of his youth (1970’s and 1980’s)
were key to forming the sensibilities of the artist’s aesthetic and
the style of his work. Artist’s Statement: “These subjects rendered to canvas and velvet are musicians, actors and entertainers who’ve come to represent more than just their job title. Through their achievements, their names and images have been raised to iconic status and thus have become universally recognized symbols of light, life, love, innovation, exploration and our higher potential.” - Adam Keener |
